Barbara Tierney co-authors book on Information Commons

Barbara Tierney, Science Reference Librarian and Information Desk Coordinator, co-authored the book "Transforming Library Service Through Information Commons: Case Studies for the Digital Age," with Russell Bailey, published by the American Library Association.  This guide provides the "how-to" information necessary for institutions considering the development of an information commons and provides comprehensive case studies from small and large academic libraries to help librarians implement, provide training for, market, and assess an information commons.  More information can be found by visiting the ALA website.

The Atkins Library Reference Dept. maintains a website with examples and guidelines for using many different citation styles, including MLA, APA, Chicago Manual of Style, and others. Rare Book Roadshow coming on April 17th

Join us on April 17th to have your rare books, maps, letters, and manuscripts evaluated by internationally known rare book expert, Dr. John Sharpe. A viewing of the library's rich, historical collections will be available, including rare and unique materials dating to Charlotte's early history.
