• Stealing, defacing, mutilating, or destroying (or attempted destroying) of library materials, buildings, property, or equipment. NCGS 14-398 and 14-455, UNCC Code of Academic Integrity Standard E, and UNCC Code of Student Responsibility Standards G, K, and L.
• Moving library furniture or equipment around the building without permission. Placing feet on library walls or on furnishings.
• Violating the posted Atkins Food and Beverage Policy.
• Smoking or using tobacco products in all public areas. UNCC Policy Statement #68.
• Concealing of library materials, property, or equipment (or the attempted concealing of library materials, property, or equipment) within the library for the exclusive use of an individual or group or to circumvent library procedures. NCGS 14-398, UNCC Code of Academic Integrity Standard E, and UNCC Code of Student Responsibility Standard D.
• Disrupting behavior which disturbs library use (including rowdiness, noise, cell phone conversations, and offensive sexual behavior). NCGS 14-132, NCGS 14-288.4, NCGS 14-190.9, 14-196, 14-202, UNCC Policy Statement #58, UNCC Code of Student Responsibility Standards D, S and V.
• Leaving children (under the age of 12) unsupervised in the library.  Adults who bring children or minors into the library are responsible for monitoring their activities and regulating their behavior.
• Harassing (both verbal or physical) of library patrons or staff. NCGS 14-277.1, UNCC Policy Statements #61 and #95, and UNCC Code of Student Responsibility Standard A.
• Being in unauthorized area, including refusing to leave at closing time, during drills or emergencies, or when asked to do so by a library staff member. NCGS 14-159.11-14.159.14, NCGS 14-288.4, UNCC Code of Student Responsibility Standards M and Q.
• Failing to provide valid identification when requested to do so by a library staff member. UNCC Code of Student Responsibility Standards H, I, and M.
• Bringing in animals other than guide dogs. UNCC Policy Statement #43.
• Littering. NCGS 14-399.
• Soliciting, including soliciting for donations, business, or signatures on petitions. UNCC Policy Statement #40.
• Distributing or posting signs, flyers, posters, etc., in or around the library, without approval of library administration. UNCC Policy Statement #40.
• Stealing personal property in the library. NCGS 14-72, UNCC Code of Student Responsibility Standards K and L.
• Bringing weapons into the library. NCGS 14-269.2, UNCC Policy Statement #32, UNCC Code of Student Responsibility Standards B and R.
• Bringing fireworks into the library. NCGS 14-410, UNCC Code of Student Responsibility Standard R.

Persons who commit or attempt to commit any of the above acts will be subject to disciplinary action by the library or by the University or subject to criminal prosecution, or both, if appropriate.
