Library
privileges
To obtain Library
privileges the department chair (or designee) is to submit the
names, Social Security Numbers, telephone numbers, email
addresses, and length of appointment of those appointed as
Adjunct Faculty. These requests can be emailed to bsstuart@uncc.edu or
brought to the Circulation Desk in Atkins Library.
Library
privileges include full Faculty privileges, including:
- 120 day
circulation period,
- 2 renewals,
online, by phone or in person.
- No limit on the
number of items borrowed,
- ILL
privileges,
- Periodical
check out privileges,
- May recall any
checked out items,
- May reserve and
check out media equipment for class room instructional
purposes,
- May designate a
Proxy borrower,
- May request
limited borrowing privileges for family members, age 13 and
above,
- Borrowing
privileges at any of the 16 university system schools,
- Borrowing
privileges at designated area colleges and universities,
- Pays fines on
overdue recalled items, overdue Inter-Library Loans, and
overdue equipment; according to fine structure for each
segment
Off-Campus Access to
Electronic Resources
To obtain
off-campus access to the library's electronic resources, a
Novell account will need to be requested from the Information
& Technology Services Help Center. An Adjunct
Faculty member's department chair (or designee) must submit
the request for a Novell Account. The request has
to contain the adjunct faculty member's full name, Social
Security Number, off-campus telephone number, as well as a
reference contact on campus (who is responsible for
them). Information & Technology Services will then
send the faculty member's Novell login and password back to
the home department. NOTE: Faculty Novell
passwords are unique; they do not follow the same rubric as
student account passwords. Once the Novell ID and
password are obtained, follow the Remote Access directions on
the library's homepage (http://newlib.uncc.edu/).
